Seeking out individual counseling can be a significant turning point. It can be daunting to decide where to begin. You may desire a change in yourself or your life. You may find yourself blocked in your ability to think clearly and manage the issues confronting you. The issues may feel overwhelming and not be clear to you at the moment, especially if you feel the need to face the significant choices.
In individual therapy, it is important to me to provide you with a supportive and professional environment where you are comfortable addressing and clarifying these issues. I see myself as a guide, with a relational approach. In this, I see the value of knowing and honoring our emotional responses and needs, along with the realization that how we perceive our selves and our world is critical to how we respond and act. In therapy, we will examine how you feel, think and respond in situations as well as identify patterns of concern. Your strengths will be recognized and built upon to help you be your best aware self.
My goal is to offer a practical and effective process toward your growth and change. Specific goals and my therapeutic style are tailored toward your individual needs. Therapy is a collaborative process wherein we will clarify issues and identify tools for you to use so you can move beyond what is confronting you.
Dealing with depression, anxiety, loss, life transitions and relationship issues are all areas where I can be of assistance to you.
